1 SITUATION

1.1 Overview

Since the fall of the Soviet Union several of the former soviet states are becoming friendly against the west and are talking about joining NATO.
Russia tries to stop this by starting unrest in the countries and providing weapons to insurgent groups.

Georgia have been starting to close in on joining NATO and are asking for help to stabilize their country and all the insurgent groups in the north of the country.
NATO have promised to help them by training their military and to have forces in the area but will not engage the insurgent groups.
Russia have warned NATO that any NATO forces close to their border will be seen as an act of war and they will shoot down any aircraft crossing their airspace.
This morning a recognizance flight of 2 F/A-18C was shoot down by Russian SAM close to the Russian border while they on a recognising mission.
Russia is claiming that they where over the border when the missile was launched and then went south again cross the border.

Cruise missile strike will take out all known SA sites in area but there could be movable SAMs in the area but according to our lates intel it should be minimal. SAM that shoot down our pilots are not still in the area

Civilian air traffic is still active in some parts of eastern Georgia.

2 MISSION

First priority is to find our missing pilots and a SAR operation by A-10C, F15E, AH-64D and UH-1 is to sort this out. We will also launch a strike on the insurgent camp that is closing in on the pilots position.

As a retaliation against Russia we are sending 6 B-1B callsign BLACKNIGHT to strike on a vital strategic position in the area marked on the map by ALPHA and BRAVO

3 EXECUTION

3.1 Commander’s intent

Rescue our pilots and destroy the insurgent camp.
Escort the B-1B bombers from NATO base in Turkey to safely drop their ordinance on two target positions in Russia

3.2 Packages

The mission contains 3 package, callsign CAREBEAR, VOLE and SEAGULL.

3.3 Order of events

This operation is divided into four phases which will be conducted chronologically:

1. ELVIS/CYLON will set up CAP close to the northern border to protect the SAR operation. F/A-18 DUSTY4 will take up overwatch to keep an eye on enemy fleet

2. CAREBEAR package will take off and head to WP 1 to refuel and meet up with BLACKNIGHT (no spawn until allowed as ELVIS will spawn cold on carrier.)

3. Carrier group will launch Cruise missile to destroy all know SA sites in Russian territory that could interrupt with the mission.

2. First wave of escorts from CAREBEAR will push at 8:15 from WP 1 “HOTEL”

3. Second wave of escorts from CAREBEAR will push at 8:20 from WP 1 “HOTEL”

4. Third wave of escorts from CAREBEAR will push at 8:23 from WP 1 “HOTEL

4. BLACKKNIGHT will arrive at WP 1 “HOTEL” at 8:25 and will push with rest of CAREBEAR.

* HAWG and HITMAN will take of as soon as CAP is in place and search for downed pilots
* ORCA Can move to IP and wait for instruction from HAWG. We don’t want our helicopters in the area for to long.
* RAGE and NITRO Follow ORCA
