Planned Training:
1. F/A-18C
Time on Target and Buddy Lasing procedures.
– In pairs, establish 5 nm trail.
– Lead is responsible for TOT (set to target waypoint)
– Lead drops GBU-12 on cue
– Trailing wingman lases the target (with lead’s laser code)
– Time and fuel permitting, change roles and run the exercise again
Scenario is relevant eg in a deep valley where the aircraft dropping the bomb will have its TGP obscured by a nearby mountain before the weapon impacts.
