1 SITUATION
1.1 Overview
21st of May, 1979. Peenemünde Harbor.
Yesterday, FRA, the Swedish National Defence Radio Establishment, decrypted a transmission revealing that a faulty Soviet submarine will be forced to make a surface-bound voyage to St. Petersburg for maintenance.
It is believed to be a newly commissioned Tango Class. Thus, the Western interest is high in showing presents and startling the Soviet Navy with reconnaissance once the escort convoy reaches international waters.
1.2 Area of operations
Arkona Sea, between the southern tip of Sweden and East Germany’s north coast. The territorial borders reach 4nm (8km) out from any land. The adversary’s sovereignty must be respected.
