Package Punisher consists of A-10C Ground attack Hawg8/Pig7 and SEAD F-16 Indy9
1. SITUATION
Enemy
Air
Some activity remains in the far east, around Deir es Zor, where occasional MiG-21 and MiG-29 sorties have been flown in the past 24 hrs.
With friendly air superiority this should be no factor for friendly operations.
Ground
Enemy armor reserve consisting of the republican guard, 4th and 11th armored divisions located around Palmyra have initiated a counter-attack towards Damascus with the most likely intention of recapture the Syrian capital.
Due to the weather friendly intelligence has been taken by surprise and do not have an exact location and composition of counter-attacking forces and can only give estimates.
In the lead is most likely the republican guard division consisting of T-90 and BMP-3 vehicles known to be heavily supported by artillery and anti-air ranging from ZSU-23 to SA-8, SA-13 and a few SA-15s.
Most likely course of action is to disperse the counter-attack force by assaulting in two directions from Palmyra with the northern one, named AOA NORTH over AL QARYATAYN and the southern one named AOA SOUTH assaulting over AL BASIRI. This enables the syrians to attack damascus from two directions at the same time, dividing our resources on two equally lethal axes of advance.
In the south its unknown if the enemy are attacking through killbox Charlie or Delta or using both routes.
Friendly
Air
Friendly air units will conduct strikes against remaining roadbases and Syrian army rear logistics in order to degrade syrian army and airforce capabilities.
Ground
2nd Infantry Division are defending DAMASCUS against incoming counterattack from the north and east with following units:
3 SBCT “GHOST” are defending with a defensive line from AD DUMAYR to HARAN AL AWAMID with 2 battalions up and one in depth.
1-14 CAV “WARHORSE” has been sent out to screen in front of the brigade in order to create early warning and get a better picture of enemy forces attacking along AOA SOUTH.
There will be no friendly ground troops in your killboxes so no factor.
Support
Patriot battery at Damascus Intl. is in range to cover targets at altitude in Killbox Charlie and halfway through Killbox Delta.
2. MISSION
Hawg8 and Indy9 are to conduct ground attacks in killboxes Charlie and Delta in order to degrade enemy counter-attack towards DAMASCUS.
3. EXECUTION
Both flights take off and rally outside killboxes, when approved to enter by stingray coordinate strikes with each other.
SEAD is to conduct SEAD on demand as we right now do not know where enem AA/SAM systems are located.
A-10 focus on destroying armor in the killboxes and hand over AA/SAM targets to SEAD.
