1 SITUATION

1.1 Overview

Once again, it’s up to the fine pilots at MA to rescue the world. This time in the form of knocking out an Shahed-136 drone factory deep inside Iran. The factory produces key components that is crucial to the Shahed series. By reducing the production, we hope to reduce the pressure on some parts of Europe.

As a side show, leaders in the region want us to reduce to threat to the shipping lane passing Hormuz. At the port of Rajaei there is a factory that produces speedboats for the Iran republican guard. We need to close the production and reduce the stockpile of speedboats to dust. A group of A-10 will also be tasked to attack and destroy as many speedboats as possible at the island of Sirri and Abu Musa.

For MA to achieve all the task there is other elements that need to succeed. You will find in a more detailed part of the brief.

Godspeed!

1.2 Area of operations

Southeast part of Iran. From the coastline of Bandar Abbas up to Kerman.

1.3 Time and weather

* July 29 – 2022
* 04:00 local time
* Scattered (8000’-11000’) Few (24000-26000’)
* Wind 310 / 6kts
* FORCE QNH 2992
* BULLSEYE: N26 50 0 E56 22 0

1.4 Air threats

MiG-21, MiG-29, F-5, F-14

A large number of Iranian fighters have been stationed at Bandar Abbas, probably as a quick response action. At Shiraz AFB in the north there is at least four different groups of MIG-29 station. To the east at Kerman we have indication of a number of parked F-14 as well a number of MIG-29. There is no indication that the Iranian have any CAP in or around our area of operation.

1.5 Ground threats

Speedboat, La Combattante (Kaman class), BMP-2, T-55, 23mm, 60mm, ZSU-23 Shilka, MANPADS, SA-6, SA-2, SA-10, SA-11

This is what we know at the moment.
SA-10 site 32nm east of Bandar Abbas, and then one SA-11 site at the town of Lar. These sites is marked on your MFD´s. There is one SA-6 and one SA-2 5nm west of Bandar Abbas. Also marked on you MFD´s. In general, all major town on Iranian territory is heavily defended by AAA and mobile small SA system like Manpads. The island of Sirri and Abu Musa is defended by 23mm, manpads and 40 up to 60mm from the Kaman ship in the area.

1.6 Friendly forces

N/A, we are the only blue forces in the AO.

1.7 Civilian/3rd part

Civilian air traffic is still active in west part of the Persian Gulf.

2 MISSION

Destroy and neutralize the Iranian drone export. Reduce the threat to shipping thru the Hormuz by reducing the number of speedboats and other naval ships.

EXECUTION

3.1 Commander’s intent

Destroy the drone-factory at Kemar. Destroy or neutralize as many speedboats as possible at Sirri and Abu Musa. Remove the Silkworm station and their FOB.

3.2 Packages

No factor at this point

3.3 Order of events

This operation is divided into 8 parts. Some is crucial for the success for the rest parts (flights).

Depatures:

04:15 BENDER, INDY, RAGE
04:20 ARCTIC, JESTER
04:25 ELVIS,
04:30 KRAKEN, GRIM, HAWG, TUSK

  1. BENDER flight will proceed to their target at Kerman and destroy the drone factory.
  2. ARCTIC will provide CAP for BENDER flight during, and on the return to mother.
  3. JESTER flight will push and destroy the SA sites at Bandar Abbas.
  4. GRIM flight will push and destroy the airfield at Bandar Abbas to hinder the Iranian counterstrike.
  5. ELVIS flight will push and destroy the Speedboat factory.
  6. INDY and KRAKEN will provide CAP at A,B,C and Delta during the length of the mission.
  7. HAWG and TUSK will push and attack Sirri and Abu Musa Island.
  8. RAGE will push and attack Silkworms and the FOB.

For GRIM to succeed JESTER need to takeout the SA sites. INDY and KRAKEN need to provide good CAP for HAWG, TUSK, ELVIS and RAGE to succeed on there tasking.

If any of this fails, the mission will most likely fail.
