Background:
In a fictional campaign during WW2 allied forces have recently established small bases on Guam and Rota. A detachment of RAF and USAF fighters are tasked with supporting offensive operations towards Tinian and Saipan islands in the north. US and Japanese naval forces are maneuvering around the Mariana islands and a major naval engagement has just started with raids from carrier based aircraft.
Situation:
Allied command have determined that the southern coastal defense battery was put temporarily out of action by the B17 attack, and are now pushing navy assets north in order to bombard Tinian. Our task is to provide CAP over our ships, and to bomb the south battery from low level to take it out permanently.
When the A/G package calls “SALTSPRAY” naval units will do a 40 second masssive bombardment to aid in locating the bunker and to delete any AAA that the Japs have moved up during the night. After the initial bombardment the navy will target other locations on the east coast of Tinian, se map below for danger zone to avoid.
