Background:
In a fictional version of the Battle of Britain Spitfire/P51 squadrons are on standby on the ground at RAF Detling, waiting for instructions from SAPPER, sector control, 11 group. This is an mission where we test integration of LotATC radar picture via tracking on a WW2 style map board, and controlled intercepts based on this picture.

A map with “named points” for SAPPER to use when directing you is available as a kneeboard page in the mission, and as drawings on the F10 map.

Pilot instructions:

• ATC Detling Ch A
• GCI SAPPER Ch B
• SAPPER will lead the intercept until contact
• Stay with the section leader
• Rearm at best speed at Detling
