The SAA offensive is moving fast from Palmyra towards Damascus, having already covered some 50 nm in the past 6 hrs. This must be stretching their supply lines to the limit and as soon as friendly forces engage them decisively, they will likely be in dire need of fuel and ammunition. Your objective is to starve them of these resources by striking rear echelon logistics. Ground radar surveillance has identified two areas of interest (NAI LOKI and FENRIR) W and S of Palmyra, with large volumes of converging traffic, indicative of logistics sites. Due to poor weather, we have not obtained any current satellite or drone imaging. Available images (ANNEX 3, 4) are obsolete, provided for overview only.
There are no major SAM systems active in the area. SIGINT has seen occasional SA-8 search radars but no specific locations have been pinpointed. Also, SA-13, ZSU-23 and MANPADS should be expected.
The SyAF has one remaining road base near Deir ez-Zor, some 100 nm NE of Palmyra. This will be engaged by PKG WOLVERINE.
NAI FENRIR (ANNEX 1, 3) is located 20 miles W Palmyra. It is a known industrial site where we have now seen unusual amounts of traffic in the direction of the SAA offensive. We do not know if they are using existing warehouses, or if they have set up temporary storage on the outskirts of the site.
NAI LOKI (ANNEX 1, 4) is a crossroads area 10 miles SSW Palmyra with a racetrack to the east and a small village to the south. Here, too, the traffic pattern indicates a logistics point which may or may not use existing buildings for storage.
We believe these logistics points are mainly supplying the SAA reserve forces located in areas CHARLIE and DELTA (ANNEX 2). These forces will be engaged by PKG PUNISHER. For deconfliction, avoid the area south of FENRIR and LOKI by primarily attacking on an east-west axis.
