Until it’s suddenly not there anymore. No satellite television\, no global positioning systems\, no long range communications\, and perhaps most alarming for a nation state – no satellite intel. \nFor the first few minutes it was thought to be just a ‘glitch’. But nothing came back online. Panic followed. The realisation set in\, that right now someone could be launching a first strike and you wouldn’t know until the warheads started falling from the sky. Air Force One took off. Alert interceptors scrambled all over the continent. Strategic forces went to high alert and for a moment it seemed that someone might actually go ahead and pull THE trigger just for fear of being the last to unholster their gun. Then reports started to trickle in that this wasn’t just affecting us. It was everyone. The Russians\, The Chinese\, The Iranians… all the actors you would initially have thought to blame for something like this. An emergency meeting of the UN Security Council followed and for once there was agreement. We have to find out what happened. And put an end to it. Right the fuck now. \nIntelligence agencies soon determined the source to be a massive cyberattack aimed at the satellites themselves. Something that could only be pulled off from a seriously powerful uplink station. Following old SIGINT data\, the likely location came up as somewhere in the Beqaa Valley\, Lebanon. The Lebanese\, furious at the accusation\, went to see for themselves but none of their patrols returned to base. Just scattered reports of ground combat and pilots shouting in panic as they evaded SAMs. \nCENTCOM is now tasked with finding out what’s going on\, and ending it. Any and all resources in the area\, regardless of nationality\, will be pressed into service. If by nightfall the situation has not been resolved by conventional means\, only the nuclear option remains. One that would spell disaster for millions of civilians. \n1.2 Area of operations\nBeqaa Valley\, Lebanon\, and surrounding countries. \n1.3 Time and weather\n* September 10 – 2001\n* 06:00 local time (just after sunrise)\n* BKN 8/18/30\n* Wind from 250 / 7\n* FORCE QNH 2992 / 1013\n* Temp 21°C \n1.4 Air threats\nUnknown. There is at least one operational airfield in the area\, Rayak. However\, records do not suggest any fighter or strike aircraft having landed there in recent time. Only transport planes and helos. \n1.5 Ground threats\nUnknown. \nAs for surface-to-air threats\, ELINT indicates at least one late Soviet era search radar. Recon aircraft were engaged at ranges indicating “double digit” SAMs such as SA-10 or SA-11. \nLebanese ground forces were met with overwhelming firepower from tanks and artillery\, suggesting at least battalion strength. \n1.6 Friendly forces\nMainly air power: One Carrier Strike Group in the eastern part of the Mediterranean. Israeli forces at Ramat David. Russian forces at Bassel Al-Assad. Other nationalities joining in as we speak. Limited ground forces from Israel and Lebanon. \n1.7 Civilian/3rd part\nCivilian air traffic is firmly grounded. There has been no evacuation of civilians from the Beqaa Valley area. \n2 MISSION\nLocate the uplink site. If at all possible\, gather physical evidence and prisoners. Then terminate the threat. \n3 EXECUTION\n3.1 Commander’s intent\nCENTCOM will coordinate all available forces to perform reconnaissance and then develop a strike plan. \n3.2 Packages\nAlpha and Bravo\n \n3.3 Endstate\nELINT and SIGNINT collected\nAerial reconnaissance conducted\nLimiting enemy positions located \n3.4 Rules of engagement\nROE: C\nAs per SPINS \n3.5 Acceptable level of risk\nALR: EXTREME\nAs per SPINS \n3.6 Package tasking\nPackage Alpha\nConduct ELINT in NAI 1\nConduct Aerial reconnaissance in NAI 2\nBe prepared to support Package Bravo with SEAD\nBe prepared to intercept hostile aircrafts \nPackage Bravo\nLocate enemy forces along WOMBAT\, SQUIRREL and ELEPHANT\nConduct SIGINT in NAI 1 \n4 ADMINISTRATION AND LOGISTICS\n4.1 Airfield operations\n* Ramat David\n* TCN: 84X\n* Active runway: 27 \n* Damascus Intl\n* Actice runway: 23R\n* Traffic freq: 272.00 \n* Kiryat Shmona\n* Active runway: 21\n* Traffic freq: 271.00 \n4.2 Carrier operations\n* CASE 1\n* BRC: 278\n* Departure time: According to PL\n* Departure sequence: According to PL\n* Charlie time: 08:15 \nAs per Carrier Ops SPINS\n \n4.3 Tankers\nAs per Aerial Refueling SOP \n5 COMMAND AND CONTROL\n5.1 Commander\n* Mission commander is DEADGUN\n* Mission commander deputy: TBA \n5.2 Frequencies\nAs per Comms SOP \n5.3 Authentication\nRAMROD: KPISTRULEZ\nAs per Authentication SOP \n5.4 Freq flow (Airfield flights)\n6\, 7\, 9\, 3\, 7\, 6\nRemain on Tower (ch 7) during startup and departure. SUMMARY:Training Tuesday - Split Pop Attack
DESCRIPTION:What\n2-ship Split Pop Attack from multiple directions. Altitude deconfliction.\nWhy\nTo minimize exposure in areas where small arms\, AAA and MANPADS are present.\nWhom\nAny plane able to have bombs and speed of minimum 430knts. We split in 2 groups\, Alpha and Bravo. More details in briefing.\n\nHow\nIn flights of two\, we head towards the target area at high speed and low altitude. Once 5nm from the target\, each ship breaks 30 degrees in opposite direction from the target heading. When target is at the 4/8 o’clock position\, and on lead call\, pop-up and turn into the target. The Syrian Regime\, bolstered by Russian military support\, has been making rapid advances around Damascus.\nU.S. intelligence failed to anticipate just how effective the Russian Maskirovka tactics can be\, and now Syrian forces are pushing forward in a surprising pace\, threatening the capital. \nIn the north\, Al-Dumays airfield represents both as a logistic hub and potential staging ground for future airstrikes. Its neutralization is crucial to keeping the enemy at bay.\nMeanwhile\, in the south\, the A-10 pilot’s capture could send a signal of vulnerability of American forces in the region. A successful recovery will show that U.S. forces are not only capable of striking hard\, but also of retrieving their own when things get tough. \n1.2 Area of operations\nBACKTRACK (MGRS: BT): 23nm ENE of DAMASCUS. Next to mountain ridge. Al-Dumays airfield.\nBULLSHIT (MGRS: BS): 14nm SE of DAMASCUS. SUMMARY:Training Tuesday - IFR
DESCRIPTION:Training Mission: IFR \nPlanned Training: \n1. F/A-18C\n– IFR \n2. F-16C\n– IFR \n3. F-14B\n– IFR \n4. AJS 37\n– IFR \n5. A-10C II\n– IFR \n6. AH-64D\n– IFR \n7. AWACS/ATC\n– IFR \n  \nInstrument Flight Rules (‘IFR’)\, simply put\, covers flying without visual references outside of the cockpit through the usage of various navigational aids\, such as TACAN & GPS. This week’s training session will be a focused exercise on IFR operations nearest the airfield\, meaning takeoffs and landings in low-visibility conditions. \nAircraft not capable of IFR operations are recommended to organise their own training on the secondary server due to the weather and lightning conditions. \nAgenda \n\nHow to aviate and navigate using solely the instruments. We’ll cover the generics that apply to all aircraft. We will not cover aircraft specific topics. Make sure you understand how to operate all necessary equipment (radios\, TACAN\, ILS etc) beforehand\nHow to read and interpret STAR and SID charts for airfield departures or landings.\nRadials & DME\n\n  \nThe event will begin with a quick theoretical session on IFR. This is not mandatory\, and meant for those who are uncertain of the basics\, such as interpreting an SID/STAR chart. The “usual” briefing will commence at 19:30. \nUnless otherwise requested\, all aircraft will remain in controlled airspace\, flying a route assigned by ATC. This route is meant to practice basic instrument flying. If you wish to practice on your own\, say so when checking in. \nRecommended reading prior to the exercise: https://wiki.masterarms.se/index.php/Radials \n  \nRMD STAR \n  \n  \n  \n  \nRMD SID \n  \n

In the aftermath of the strike\, there were loud complaints from the usual suspects – Russia\, Cuba\, China and the Arab League. Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei went so far as to describe the attack as “terrorism”\, threatening to punish those responsible for “attacks against Islam”. \nDetermined to show resolve\, president Clinton ordered the US 5th fleet to conduct a freedom of navigation exercise in the Persian Gulf. Two days later\, on August 22nd\, Carrier Strike Group 11 lead by USS Theodore Roosevelt transited the Strait of Hormuz at full battle stations. As CENTCOM expected\, the Iranians eventually stood down and the strike group proceeded into the Gulf\, staying just outside Iran’s internationally recognized  territorial waters. \nBefore dawn on August 23rd\, with the strike group about to turn south toward Qatar\, a surprise strike was launched by the Iranians. A massive volley of Silkworm missiles overwhelmed the strike group’s air defenses\, damaging several ships including the Roosevelt herself which was rendered unable to conduct air operations. \nSimultaneous Shahab (Scud-B) missile strikes on airfields in Saudi\, Kuwait\, Qatar and UAE disabled most of the allied airfields in the region. \nRoosevelt and the rest of CSG 11 must now limp towards relative safety in Qatar\, with little friendly air cover. Meanwhile\, it is assumed the Iranians are reloading and repositioning their silkworm launchers for a second attack. One that would surely spell doom for the Carrier and indeed all of CSG-11. Adding insult to injury\, the Iranian Air Force is likely to launch sorties as soon as they realize the extent of the damage. \nRushing to the scene from the Arabian Sea is CSG 9\, led by USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72). For most of the day\, they will be the only significant USN resource in the area. \nUSAF performed a quick strike on Tunb Island immediately after the attack on CSG-11 but were then stuck at Al Dhafra when the SCUDs hit. The Air Force is now preparing to mount a more significant air presence over the Gulf but most of the resources will have to be ferried long distances before they become available. CENTCOM estimates another 6 hours before full operational strength is achieved in the AO. Until then\, USAF will rely on a few squadrons based in Saudi Arabia and UAE. \n1.2 Area of operations\nPersian Gulf \n1.3 Time and weather\n* Aug 23 1998\n* 05:30 local time\n* SCT/BKN 18/20\n* Wind from 250 / 4\n* Temp 21°C\n* FORCE QNH 2992 / 1013 \n1.4 Air threats\nMiG-21\, MiG-29\, F-4E\, F-14A \nF-4E\, MiG-21 and MiG-29 based in Bandar Abbas\, Qeshm and Lavan. \nF4-E and F-14 based in Shiraz. \n1.5 Ground threats\nSA-10 Bandar Abbas. \nIt is now the early hours of August 23rd and CSG-11 will turn south\, its mission accomplished. SUMMARY:The Kandahar Chronicles: Mission 1 - Operation Desert Serpent
DESCRIPTION:Mission Name: Operation Desert Serpent\nAircraft: AH-64 Apache (RAGE9) – 2 ship\, OH-58 Kiowa Warrior (BLACKJACK4) – 1 ship\nBackground: Insurgent intelligence indicates a critical weapons cache and a High-Value Target (HVT) are being moved out of the Spin Boldak area\, using the transition of dawn to mask their movement toward a major distribution hub.\nIntel: The HVT convoy consists of 3 technicals and 2 cargo trucks. They are traveling from Spin Boldak (near the Pakistan border) and are expected to be moving northbound or northwest along primary or secondary routes. The Kiowa (BLACKJACK4) will act as the forward scout and designator. The Apaches (RAGE9) will be the primary strike platform.\n\nAir Defense Threat: Expect standard small arms and 1-2 MANPADS teams. CRITICAL: Intelligence also suggests the presence of an emplaced ZU-23-2 (Soviet twin 23mm AAA) protecting a choke point along the likely route. You must neutralize this threat to ensure the safety of your aircraft.\nRules of Engagement (ROE): Positive Identification (PID) is mandatory. Civilian traffic\, consisting of unescorted civilian vehicles\, is likely on the main roads. You must confirm the target as the 3 Technicals and 2 Cargo Trucks before engaging. Avoid engaging near civilian vehicles.\n\n\nObjectives:\n\nLocate and positively identify the HVT convoy using the Kiowa Warrior.\nDestroy the HVT convoy.\n\n\nMission Success: All five HVT vehicles destroyed\, and no civilian casualties.\nMission Failure: HVT convoy escapes\, or friendly aircraft are destroyed\, or any confirmed civilian casualties occur.\nWeather: Clear skies\, light winds from the west (5-10 knots).\nTime of Day: 05:15 Local (Sunrise)

The red side was already at high alert due to our ongoing exercise – ABLE ARCHER 83 – and can be expected to roll across the border any minute now.  \n1.2 Area of operations\nWest Germany\, Denmark\, Baltic Sea \n1.3 Time and weather\n* Sept 07 – 1983\n* 09:15 local time\n* SCT 8-10\n* Wind from 270 / 7 kts\n* Temp 23° C\n* FORCE QNH 3051 \n1.4 Air threats\nMiG-21\, MiG-23\, MiG-29 \n1.5 Ground threats\nEast Germany is littered with SAM sites\, mainly SA-2 and SA-3. Closer to the ground expect MANPADS and ZSU-23. \n1.6 Friendly forces\nWest German air defenses have now been brought up to full alert status. Several HAWK batteries are situated along the border. \n1.7 Civilian/3rd part\nCivilian air traffic is suspended. \n2 MISSION\nExecute pre-planned SEAD and STRIKE missions against Warszaw pact forces before they cross the border. \nEliminate the Soviet naval threat in the Baltic. \n3 EXECUTION\n3.1 Commander’s intent\nWarszaw Pact mechanized units are stationed in close proximity to the border. Once they are on the move\, we will be severely outnumbered. As per pre-war planning we will strike them while they are still on their side of the border. Doing so will require a daring SEAD mission by the Wild Weasels. \nDuring exercise ABLE ARCHER\, several high-ranking officers were in bunkers close to the border. We will need to evacuate them before they are hit by air strikes and/or steamrolled by armor. \nThe Carrier Air Wing will provide CAP. \nSweden was drawn into the conflict and Viggens have found themselves stationed in Lübeck. Their mission will be to sink the Soviet naval forces in the Baltic but doing so requires ordnance that is not available in NATO stores. One that starts with conventional weapons but potentially ends in a nuclear holocaust. While it is mainly a command-level exercise\, there will also be elements simulating the conflict on the tactical level\, providing the leadership with some measure of realistic feedback to their decisions. \n1.2 Area of operations\nWest Germany \n1.3 Time and weather\n* Sept 07 – 1983\n* 06:30 local time\n* SCT 8-10\n* Wind from 270 / 7 kts\n* Temp 23° C\n* FORCE QNH 3051 \n1.4 Air threats\nOn this side of the Iron Curtain no threats are expected. Stray to the other side and you will find the entire arsenal at the Warszaw Pact’s disposal. \n1.5 Ground threats\nOn this side of the Iron Curtain no threats are expected. Stray to the other side and you will find the entire arsenal at the Warszaw Pact’s disposal. \n1.6 Friendly forces\nN/A\, we are the only blue forces in the exercise area \n1.7 Civilian/3rd part\nCivilian air traffic is suspended over the exercise area but otherwise unrestricted \n2 MISSION\nDay ONE of Able Archer ’83. The briefing for the political and military leaders that participate in this exercise describes a short period of increased tensions between Nato and the Warszaw Pact\, after which hostilities suddenly erupt across the German border. Hostile fighters engage the NATO CAP while attack aircraft focus on airfields and SAM-sites. The military leadership will initially focus their training on execution of pre-planned defensive missions while the political leadership have to consider how they migt protect the civilian population as well as how attempts could be made to find diplomatic solutions to the conflict before it escalates out of control. \nThe Carrier Battle Group is participating in the exercise but only at command level. The Air Wing conducts routine CAP. \nViggens at Kallinge are the routine incident alert fighters. It is expected that the Warzsaw pact will conduct aerial and/or naval intelligence gathering during the ongoing NATO exercise. If they venture into the Baltic sea we will intercept them for VID and “wave the flag”. \n3 EXECUTION\n3.1 Commander’s intent\nPackages LONGBOW and PICKAXE conduct exercises as detailed below. NOTE! All pilots must be familiar with the range regulations (3.4.1). \nCSAR resources conduct separate exercises but are on stand-by in case their services are needed. \nThe Carrier Air Group is not participating in the exercise. Their mission is the same as always – keep the Carrier Battle Group safe. \nViggens are the routine alert interceptors at F17 Kallinge. \n3.2 Packages\nThe mission contains 2 packages: LONGBOW and PICKAXE (consisting of F/A-18\, F-16\, and F4).\n \nLONGBOW (Arctic1 and Banshee2) is the A2A component of the exercise. Blue forces will set up CAP and maintain EMCON conditions. Redfor will simulate a low-level incursion from the east\, following expected Soviet doctrine. \nPICKAXE (Bender2\, Jester1 and Indy9) simulates a strike by Redfor (Jester and Indy) on a blue airfield. Bluefor (Bender) is the QRF at Gutersloh air base. \n3.3 Order of events\nLONGBOW (blue and red) and PICKAXE (red) depart Ramstein and assemble at designated IP:s. Pickaxe (blue) starts up at Gutersloh\, awaiting STINGRAY’s orders. \n“Defeated” aircraft return to IP in anticipation of either a new round of exercise or RTB\, depending on time and fuel constraints. \n3.4 Rules of engagement\nROE: A\nAs per SPINS \n3.4.1 Range regulations\n\nOnly CAPTIVE missiles are used. (Live ordnance loaded as needed for systems to function in DCS but for all intents and purposes these missiles are considered inert.) MASTER ARM shall be set to SIMULATION or OFF\, depending on aircraft type\, at all times. Guns shall be UNLOADED.\nSupersonic flight is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN\nNo electronic warfare\, including Self-protection jammers\n\nAltitude separation \n\n\n\nBLUE forces own the “6-10” altitude blocks 6000-10000\, 16000-20000 and 26000-30000\nRED forces own the “1-5” altitude blocks 0-5000\, 11000-15000 and 21000-25000\nPassing through the opposing side’s altitude block may be requested by FL and authorized by STINGRAY if deconfliction is certain.\nAn individual pilot who wants to violate the other side’s altitude block without explicit authorization from STINGRAY may only do so if the following conditions are met:\n\nFighters from opposing sides have merged\nPilot intends to maneuver for a “kill”\nPilot has situational awareness of both BLUE and RED air in his immediate vicinity\n\n\n\n\n\nCalling shots \n\n\n\nShots may only be called if the aggressor has radar lock on his opponent and is within indicated Rmax of the selected weapon. Good sportsmanship is expected at all times. Cheaters get latrine duty.\nAggressor calls on the common frequency: [Callsign] [Fox1 / Fox2 / Guns guns guns] on [aircraft type] my [o’clock\, high/low\, in level flight / in a right- / left hand turn]\nA defeated aircraft\, recognizing it was the target\, will rock its wings to acknowledge the “kill” and then safely return to IP. If needed\, STINGRAY will advise the target aircraft that it is hit and it will then follow the procedure described above.\n\n\n\n3.5 Acceptable level of risk\nALR: LOW\nAs per SPINS \n3.6 Flight tasking\nPackage LONGBOW (Lead: ARCTIC11)\nARCTIC1 \nBLUFOR – CAP in exercise area ABLE SKY \n* Depart Ramstein\n* Hold at IP CHARLIE (WP3) at 28000’\n* Radars off until you have received vectors to aggressors (or ordered LIGHTS ON by STINGRAY)\n* Expect REDFOR ingress from the east\, defeat “hostiles” in BVR and/or dogfight\n* Refuel at ARCO5 as needed\n* RTB on order from STINGRAY \nLoadout: AIM-7M (considered captive)\, AIM-9M (considered captive) \nWaypoints:\n1. SUMMARY:RotorThursday – Once again\, closer!
DESCRIPTION:RSVP: 2025-09-12 – 19:30 (please sign-up asap though\, as it makes things easier to plan)\nActivity: Security/recon.\nTheatre: Syria\nModules: OH-58D\, AH-64\nPrerequisites: None \nWeather:\nMission time 20:00 (Dark)\nQNH 29.80. Low cloud base. Wind 090/2 Temp +20C \nWe will continue our security task in AO CHESTNUT against militia trying to destabilize Syria. (with a twist…) \nSITUATION\nLast missions success have triggered something we did not anticipate. BADLAND\, the country north of the known border has been known for supporting the militias with weapons and supplies but have now moved into an active phase. \nENEMY\nArmored convoys have crossed the border crossings and advanced south towards CHARLIE along MSR FOX in order to complete what the militias failed to. – evicting US forces out from OP OAK.\nEnemy forces are better trained and better equipped\, T-90s and BMP-3 have been spotted in the convoys crossing the border.\nLooking at their AA assets we have seen ZSU-23-4 Shilkas\, SA-13 and SA-15 before and expect to meet them again. \nFRIENDLY\nNo friendly ground forces in the active part of the AO. Area of 10km out from OP OAK is patrolled by friendly forces and considered safe. \nMISSION\nStop the enemy assault advancing along MSR FOX. \nLOGISTICS\nFARP at OP OAK\, no other replen available. \nCOMMAND/CONTROL\nFM 33.0 is package net for coordination between flights. \nGAMEPLAY\nRespawn is allowed in order to get as much training effect as possible. However if a bird goes down all other birds has to disengage and reform with the respawning bird before going back in against the threat. \nKNEEBOARD for this and future missions:

Not inside the claimed territory\, but on our side of the frontline. Russia denies any interference\, but the wreckage is clear\, and the fighter was even outside the NFZ they declared. Not only did they violate our airspace\, but they shot down a helicopter\, and even tried to attack our NASAM system in IVALO. We told them that we see that as a direct attack from russia\, not from any mercenaries driving around in T-90s from some black market\, and that we will answer accordingly.\nThis afternoon\, our prime minister played the UNO reverse card and declared a no fly zone 40nm into russia. Almost at the same time\, one of our HIMARS guys “mistyped a coordinate” somehow and leveled a power line\, sending the whole area into darkness. Oops. Won’t be back anytime soon. And we finally got satellite pictures of the area.\nThis night\, a strike package will cross the border to russia and level an ammunition depot near the border which is used for supplies to NELLIM. Satellite images proof that they resupply the front directly from that depot.\nAny nearby air defense is to be suppressed or destroyed\, and there are no restrictions to anything 40 miles away from the russian border near the disputed area. A few miles give or take… Murmansk is 80\, and the nearest SA-10 site is 30nm in. If you’re getting shot at\, you may reply with “suitable force”. Just don’t end up in Murmansk\, that might be hard to explain.\nUnfortunately\, enemy tanks were able to push the frontline about 3km south\, and are now at a position approximately there were we had the first contact\, a few kilometers northeast of the bridge we locked down. \n1.2 Area of operations\nEast of Ivalo\, the area consists of forest. \n1.3 Time and weather\n* May 13 – 2025\n* 02:00 local time\n* Scattered (8200′-11500′)\n* Wind 292 / 12\n* 9 degrees Celsius\n* FORCE QNH 2915 \n1.4 Air threats\nMiG-29S\, Su-27\, MiG-31 \nRussian CAP in the area\, but over russian soil. Unclear if they stick to their announcement to force a no-fly zone over the AO. \n1.5 Ground threats\nYes. Unclear number of air defense units\, most forces seem to consist of mechanized infantry. Expect some reinforcements\, maybe even 2S6 Tunguska.\nFurther\, known threats include:\n– SA-10\, located northeast of the area in russia (Bullseye 64 for 64)\n– 2x SA-15\, located south of the target\n– 2x 2S6 Tunguska\, located somewhere in the southern part of the AO\n– A few KS-19 \n1.6 Friendly forces\nSome tank groups east and northeast of Ivalo. It’s not much\, but it’s honest work. \n1.7 Civilian/3rd part\nSeveral houses\, especially in the small settlement of NELLIM in the north of the area\, near the road going into russia. Marked with a blue square in the map. \n2 MISSION\nFixed Wing:\nThe Joint Force Air Component (JFAC) has decided to establish CAP flights directly above the area\, provided that there are no high altitude threats left.\nSEAD will weed out any remaining or resupplied air defenses.\nA strike package will take down the two ammo depots\, and will serve as a backup CAP later. Strike package will consist of:\n– A sweep\, consisting of at least two aircraft\, 10nm in front of the strike package (optionally\, if ressources allow\, we will send some TALDs in the direction of the SA-10 northeast of NELLIM before that)\n– SEAD escort\, directly following the sweep\n– The strike flight itself\, consisting of at least two aircraft equipped with 2000lb penetrators.\nSweep flight will establish a TARCAP to cover the retreat. SEAD escort will attack any air defenses threatening the operation. If there aren’t any\, then they will focus on supporting air to ground operations.\nIf fuel and weapons permit\, the strike package will back up the existing CAP flights.\nIndependent from those\, CAP missions will be established directly over the AO\, and aggressive sweep / CAP duties will take place in the area 40nm east of the AO. Anything inside that area is considered hostile.\nMap for better overview: \n \nPicture of the target: \n \nHelicopters:\nHelicopters will proceed along road R969 towards NELLIM with the intention of ultimately securing the area up to NELLIM so that own forces can advance and cut off supplies from that axis.\nEarlier engagements faced T-90s\, BMPs and Infantry. \n3 EXECUTION\n3.1 Commander’s intent\nSecure the AO from enemy fighters. Cut off supplies from the NELLIM axis. Destroy the both depots north of NELLIM. \n3.2 Packages\nPackage HAMMER will be the strike package\, consisting of:\n– ARCTIC 1\, BENDER2: Sweep / TARCAP\n– JESTER 1: SEAD escort\n– HITMAN 3: Strike\n– INDY 9: SEAD Escort \nThe helicopter group is organized in package SHREDDER\, consisting of RAGE 9 and BLACKJACK 4. \n3.3 Order of events\n– ARCTIC 1 and BENDER 2 will be sweep / TARCAP. They go in first and will aggressively engage any fighters in the AO. 4 planes.\n– INDY9 will be SEAD escort and take care of the SA-15 south of the target. Follows ARCTIC 1 in a 2-5nm trail\, offset 2nm to the south to avoid shooting HARMs through the ARCTIC 1 flight. Will attack SA-15 site at waypoint 4. 2-4 planes.\n– HITMAN 3 will be the strike flight\, tasked with destroying both depots. Will follow INDY9 in a 10-15nm trail. Arnament is at least 2x 2000lbs penetrator per plane\, at least two planes.\n– JESTER1 is backup\nECM will be required to keep the SA-10 northeast of the target at bay. All flights use a RIGHT turnout south to avoid the SA-10\, as we will touch their engagement envelope. All CAP flights will flow south after the strikers are done\, and will avoid the SA-10.\nAfter the attack\, those airplanes that have a sufficient amount of fuel and weapons left will establish an aggressive CAP mission above the area in finland. Remaining AG ordnance will be spent on targets of opportunity if possible.\nIf we get additional airframes\, then we will use TALDs to get rid of the SA-10\, and either suppress or destroy it. In that case\, the TALD flight will be KRAKEN 2\, and they will go in together with ARCTIC 1\, offset to the north. \nHelicopters in package SHREDDER will progress along road R969 towards NELLIM\, shown in the left side of the picture\, about in the red area. If they should meet stiff resistance\, requesting help from the SEAD / recon package is recommended.\nPIG 7 will work in the southern part from RAJA-JOOSEPPI westwards\, while the helicopters will focus on the road towards NELLIM. SUMMARY:CASE I
DESCRIPTION:NOTE: BESIDES THE MAIN EVENT\, THERE WILL BE A ORDINARY TRAINING TUESDAY FOR NON-NAVY AIRCRAFT \nRSVP:\n25 09 01 – 19:30 (please sign-up asap though\, as it makes things easier to plan)\nActivity:\nMission – CASE 1 rehearsal\nVersion / Modules:\nOpen Beta\, F/A-18C\, F-14B\nPrerequisites:\nGood knowledge of the aircraft systems. At least one succesful CASE1 landing beforehand. \nCase I departures and recoveries are utilized during daytime operations (day ops) when weather conditions are VMC. Case I weather requires the ceiling to be no lower than 3\,000 feet and not less than 5 NM visibility. \nRead before the exercise \nhttp://wiki.masterarms.se/index.php/CASE_1\nhttp://wiki.masterarms.se/index.php/Radials \nRecommended reading\nhttps://www.cnatra.navy.mil/local/docs/pat-pubs/P-816.pdf \nThe focus of this exercise will be on the overall CASE 1 procedure – not just getting high scores on the groove. For efficiency reasons\, and since the landing procedure is much more challenging than the departure\, we will be using airstarts. \nAll participants will be divided into flights and assigned a stack altitude before each round begins. Charlie time will be set to approximately 30 minutes after spawning in. All flights will start about 60 nautical miles from the boat. \nOnce you have spawned in\, join up with your group\, perform HAIL-R\, and contact marshal. After that\, proceed with CASE 1 as usual. Keep radio comms to a minimum – on tower frequency you should only transmit for ball calls and safety messages. \nAfter landing\, taxi away and park at a suitable spot. When everyone has landed\, we will conduct a quick debrief and then restart everything (with new stack altitudes). We aim to complete at least two rounds during the evening. \nLINEUP\n(Stack 2k’)\nChevy11: 200\nChevy12: 201\nChevy13: 202\nChevy14: 203 \nCamel31: 310\nCamel32: 311 \n(Stack 3k’)\nCamel33: 312\nCamel34: 313 \nDevil11: 410\nDevil12: 411 \n(Stack 4k’)\nDevil13: 412\nDevil14: 413 \nPontiac61: 100\nPontiac62: 101
