While ultimately unsuccessful\, it marked a clear change of pace for the campaign. We also saw a large transfer of aircraft from Iraq to the Shiraz air base in Iran. \nWorryingly\, there was also an incident involving the Iranian Navy and Air Force centered around the air base on Lavan Island. An F/A-18 flight was fired upon by naval vessels and a subsequent air engagement saw the loss of one Hornet to enemy fire. Retribution was swift but incomplete. \nCENTCOM has decided we need to send a very clear message to Iran not to interfere in the campaign\, but care must be taken to avoid an all-out war. As a measured response\, the base on Lavan Island will be annihilated\, along with any naval forces within a 15 nm radius. Other Iranian forces will be spared\, as long as they do not interfere with the operation. \n1.2 Area of operations\nEastern Persian Gulf\, Lavan Island and surrounding area. \n1.3 Time and weather\n* Jan 25th – 1991\n* 07:00 local time\n* SCT 12/14\, FEW 40\n* Wind from 310 (to 130) / 8 kts\n* FORCE QNH 2981 \n1.4 Air threats\nMiG-21\, MiG-29\, F4\, F5\, F-14\, Mi-24 \n1.5 Ground/Surface threats\nSA-5 in Shiraz. SA-2 on Kish Island. Multiple SA-2 and SA-6 along the Iranian coastline. \nPossible Silkworm launchers on Lavan Island or nearby coastline. \nThe Iranian Navy mainly consists of corvettes\, small frigates and numerous fast attack craft. \n1.6 Friendly forces\nCoalition air and naval power is present in the immediate area\, not conducting any active operations at present. \n1.7 Civilian/3rd part\nCivilian air and sea traffic is suspended \n2 MISSION\nDisable the air base on Lavan Island. Sink any naval vessels in or around the island. \nIranian naval vessels outside (15 nm+) of Lavan Island will be intercepted but given a chance to turn around. Should they fail to do so\, we are authorized to sink them. \nMaintain air superiority over the AO. Engage any Iranian aircraft that show hostile intent\, as defined in the ROE section. \nDestroy any SAM-sites considered a threat\, regardless of location. \n3 EXECUTION\n3.1 Commander’s intent\nA combined strike force of A-10\, AH-64\, AV8 and Mirage 2000 will hit Lavan Island with a focus on runway\, Silkworm launchers\, surface-to-air installations\, and remaining ships. Care must be taken to prevent fast attack boats from exiting the area in the direction towards our Carrier Battle Group. \nHornets will be responsible for intercepting any Iranian naval forces trying to reinforce Lavan Island from the east. \nVipers will provide SEAD cover. \nTomcats and Hornets will provide CAP. \n3.2 Packages\nARES – A10\, AV8\, M2000\, AH-64 \nPOSEIDON – F/A-18 Anti-ship \nATHENA – F-16 SEAD \nARTEMIS – F/A-18 and F-14 CAP \n \n3.3 Order of events\nPkg ARTEMIS establish CAP \nPkg ATHENA suppress SAM-sites as needed for subsequent attack on Lavan Island by pkg ARES \nPkg POSEIDON proceed east of Lavan Island\, search and intercept Iranian naval vessels. \n3.4 Rules of engagement\nROE: C – applies to Lavan Island and surrounding waters up to 15 nm \nROE: B – applies to all other Iranian forces unless otherwise stated by STINGRAY \nAs per SPINS \n3.5 Acceptable level of risk\nALR: MEDIUM\nAs per SPINS \n3.6 Flight tasking\nPackage ARTEMIS\nARCTIC1 \n\nDepart Mother\nEstablish CAP as instructed by STINGRAY\n\nLoadout: FL decides \nWaypoints:\n1. Extremist groups have taken advantage of the ongoing conflict\, establishing fortified positions\, training camps\, and supply depots in remote areas. Over recent months\, intelligence reports indicate increased movement of weapons and personnel\, suggesting an imminent escalation. \nMilitant forces have grown bolder\, launching coordinated attacks on convoys and outposts. Their tactics have evolved\, and their arsenal now includes advanced anti-armor and air-defense systems\, making them a more serious threat. \nCoalition forces have monitored the situation carefully\, avoiding direct engagement to prevent further destabilization. However\, with the enemy gaining ground and regional stability at risk\, military intervention may soon be inevitable. \nThe tension is reaching a breaking point. Something is about to happen. \n1.2 Area of operations\nThe operation takes place in northern Syria\, characterized by rugged mountains\, arid deserts\, and scattered settlements\, providing both natural defensive positions and challenging terrain for air and ground forces alike. \n1.3 Time and weather\n* August 11 – 2012\n* 18:30 local time\n* Scattered (18 000′)\n* Wind 100 / 6\n* FORCE QNH 29.80 / 1009 \n1.4 Air threats\n1.5 Ground threats\nIntelligence suggests enemy forces may have taken control of a Syrian SA-6\, but confirmation is pending. Previous operations indicate possible SA-9 and SA-13 presence\, though their status remains unknown. MANPADS are highly likely\, posing a threat at low altitude. Expect additional ZU-23 technicals and AAA emplacements near enemy positions. A drone will recon the area and provide a confirmed threat picture before additional flights are cleared for takeoff. Stay alert and use sensors to identify threats. \n1.6 Friendly forces\nU.S. forces are operating in the region\, including elements of the 115th Airborne\, conducting patrols around Aleppo. Additional coalition assets are stationed at key locations\, maintaining presence and readiness. Routine aerial reconnaissance and ISR operations are ongoing. Friendly units are maintaining defensive positions and conducting security operations in the area. \n1.7 Civilian/3rd part\nCivilian air traffic is still active in some parts of Syria. \n2 MISSION\nA U.S. unit has come under attack and requires immediate CAS support. A single F-16 flight is tasked with responding first\, coordinating with JTAC on the ground to engage enemy forces. With no previous warning\, a military coup began yesterday evening. At the same time\, the Russian and Syrian governments held a joint press conference declaring their support for “the peace-loving people of Lebanon in their fight against corruption and fascism”. Presidents Putin and Assad declared all of Lebanon a no-fly zone\, to be enforced by their respective Air Forces. Explicitly warning “western imperialist forces” from intervening. \nThe Lebanese government\, on the other hand\, is asking for immediate assistance and American\, Israeli and Jordanian forces have answered this call. \n1.2 Area of operations\nEastern Mediterranean\, western Syria \n1.3 Time and weather\n* July 04 – 2023\n* 06:00 local time\n* Weather: FEW/SCT 8/10 SCT 23/24\n* Wind: From 207\, 8 kts\n* FORCE QNH: 2977 \n1.4 Air threats\nMiG-21\, SU-27\, MiG-29\, SU-25 \nThe Russians have MiG-29C stationed at Basse Al-Assad. Beirut is on the verge of being overwhelmed. An allied airlift will bring in reinforcements for the besieged government forces. The Russians and Syrians have declared the area a no-fly zone and we have to believe that they intend to enforce it. SUMMARY:Foothold Saturday: Murmansk pool party
\nBriefing 19:30 takeoff 20:00. \nStridsledning\nIngen human AWACS i nuläget. Gemensam kanal UHF 3. \n

SUMMARY:MEGA Training Thursday - Return of the Rookies!
DESCRIPTION:IRL Time: Thursday\, Feb 20\, 19:30 \nTheatre: Caucasus (Kutaisi)\nTime: 2018-11-30 08:15\nWeather: 090/8\, 30.05 inHg\, SCT/BKN 14/18 BKN 24/27 FEW 40\, 20°C \nThis Thursday evening will go down in history! \nIn order to get all our new (and old!) rookies on-board and up in the saddle\, we are hosting this large (but also small… hang in there) training event. We will put effort in the lineup\, so that every rookie is flying with a more senior pilot\, instructing them and helping them out with whatever is the priority in their journey towards Basic Qualification. \nEach instructor and rookie decide in advance what they would like to practice\, by taking a look in the Training Progress Google Sheet. A recommended set of items is around 4-8. But this is obviously very much dependent on how complex and time-consuming each task is. \nWe hope that this setup\, with flying 2-ship and having personal guidance\, feels like a SMALL and easy way of getting up to speed\, but in a LARGE event\, with human ATC and other flights everywhere. \nPlease help us by signing up as soon as possible\, so that we can ensure a good lineup! \nCVN-72: BRC 113

SUMMARY:Foothold Saturday- Kandalaksha Deep Strike
\nLogistik\nInga tankers i området p g a allmänt hot. Se till att räkna ut bingo beroende på flygplanstyp. VOUJÄRVI – MÅL är ungefär 150nm\, KEMI TORNIO – MÅL är nog närmare 250nm. \nLedning / Kommunikation\nTo be announced.\nIngen stridsledning i nuläget. Som vanligt så sker kommunikation via UHF 3 TACTICAL (see kneeboard). \nKeywords\n– BACKDOOR: Byt mål till ZELENOBORSKI.

SUMMARY:Propellersöndag
DESCRIPTION:RSVP:\n2025-01-26 – 19:59 \nLineup: \nActivity:\nMission – CAP \nVersion / Modules:\nOpen Beta\, WW2 Asset pack\, Marianas\, Spitfire\, Mosquito\, P-51\, TF-51\, P-47\, Bf-109\, Fw-190A8\, Fw-190D9 \nBackground:\nIn a fictional campaign during WW2 allied forces have recently established small bases on Guam and Rota. A detachment of RAF and USAF fighters are tasked with supporting offensive operations towards Tinian and Saipan islands in the north. US and Japanese naval forces are maneuvering around the Mariana islands and a major naval engagement has just started with raids from carrier based aircraft. \nSituation:\nDuring the night and early morning US marine infantry and artillery units landed on Aguijan\, the small island south of Tinian (grid FQ). Your job is to provide fighter cover over the island while they are digging in. The enemy was taken by surprise\, but will surely react on this new threat with all available resources. It may be useful to bring light attack weapons in case the Japs will try to approach with small boats. The marines have setup a Bofors 40 mm battery on the south side of Aguijan. \nTime and weather:\n* June 1944\n* 07:30\n* Clear\n* Wind 280 / 07\n* QNH 30.11 \nResources \nAir defence map (pdf): \nLotATC Overlay (json):

Operation Desert Shield is about to become Desert Storm. Allied commanders have set H-hour at 02.38 on January 17th. The opening blows will be dealt by AH-64 Apaches\, who will destroy two key early warning radars in western Iraq\, opening a corridor for the first wave of allied fighters and bombers. \n1.2 Area of operations \nWestern Iraq\, Jordan\, Southern Syria\, Israel \n1.3 Time and weather \n* January 17 – 1991\n* 01:00 local time\n* Broken / Overcast (8000′)\n* Wind from 207 / 6 kts\n* FORCE QNH 2977 / 1013 \n1.4 Air threats \nMiG-21\, MiG-25\, MiG-29\, Mirage F1 \nThe Iraqi Air Force has over 400 fighter jets in its inventory. At least 60 of those are stationed at the H2 and H3 airfields. \n1.5 Ground threats \nSA-2\, SA-6\, Roland\, MANPADS\, ZSU-23 \nH3 airfields (H3 Northwest\, H3 and H3 Southwest) are protected by a total of one SA-2\, two SA-6 and three Rolands as well as numerous AAA. \nEWR installations are protected by ZSU-23 and MANPADS. \n1.6 Friendly forces \nThe entire UN coalition is taking part in this campaign. The specific mission only involves American assets but the air corridor opened on H-Hour will be used by other coalition aircraft. \n1.7 Civilian/3rd part \nCivilian air traffic is grounded \n2 MISSION \nPackage NORMANDY will strike early warning radar installations CALIFORNIA and NEVADA near the Saudi border. Exploiting this gap in the Iraqi IADS\, package BRAVO will hit Runways\, SAM-sites and two C2 bunkers at H3 airfields (Strategic Operations Center at H3 Northwest and Intercept Operations Center at H3). Coalition fixed wing aircraft must NOT be detected crossing the border or the Iraqis may launch fighters. This will reqire a strict adherence to the Time On Target specified in your tasking. \n3 EXECUTION \n3.1 Commander’s intent \nPermanently disable Iraqi air defenses in the west (2nd Air Defense Sector). \n3.2 Packages \nThe mission contains two packages: \nNORMANDY – AH-64 Apaches and CH-47 Chinooks \nBRAVO – F/A-18 Hornets and F-16 Vipers \n3.3 Order of events \n\n\n\nPackage BRAVO departs Ramat David and CVN-72 and heads for tankers orbiting HOLD-points 100 nm west of target area.\nPackage NORMANDY departs FARP in northwestern Saudi Arabia. CH-47s will use their brand new GPS guidance system to provide an exact entry for the Apaches\, who will then take point at an IP 10 nm south of targets CALIFORNIA and NEVADA. Target layouts are unknown as they were recently moved. Previous targets have included one EWR\, 1-2 Generators and 3-4 C2 vehicles. In addition\, fuel and ammunition storage as well as crew accomodations. Defended by 3-4 ZSU-23 installations and possibly MANPADS.\nNORMANDY has TOT 02.38 local time\, at which point Operation Desert Storm will officially commence. At that exact time\, package BRAVO will pass their IPs en route to targets around the H3 airfields. Primary targets are Command & Control bunkers\, SAM-sites and runways. Aircraft on the ground are targets of opportunity.\nErroneus coordination (adherence to TOT and IPs) may result in Iraqi fighters being sortied. If overwhelmed\, the Strike Package will retreat and allow Air Force F-15s to clear the airspace.\n\n\n\n3.4 Rules of engagement \nROE: C\nAs per SPINS \n3.5 Acceptable level of risk \nALR: MEDIUM\nAs per SPINS \n3.6 Flight tasking \nPackage BRAVO (Lead: ARCTIC11) – Taskings are preliminary and may change depending on pilot availability\nARCTIC1\n* Depart Mother\n* Refuel at ARCO1 (A18) near HOLD (WP1)\n* HOLD at WP1 (A20-21) – FL Decides push time based on TOT at IP\n* Pass IP (WP2) at EXACTLY 02.38\n* When in range\, fire a minimum of one AGM-88C at each of the six SAM-sites (WP3-8)\n* Provide CAP as directed by STINGRAY\n* RTB on order from STINGRAY\, refuel as needed at ARCO1 or ARCO5 \nLoadout: FL decides (SEAD and A/A) \nWaypoints:\n1.
